  Message to Parents & Guardians:

• Please send an extra mask everyday to school for your child. With the warmer weather, many students are misplacing their masks when they go outside. 

• Check out Google Classroom for links to RazKids and Mathletics 
• Grade 1 and 2 students should be doing 10 - 15 minutes of Home Reading every night

Learning Highlights:

Scientists in room one are exploring the science concept of Magnetic Field and Attraction. They are even practicing some mathematical skills of measuring distance using standard units of measurement.

Learning Highlights:

This week, scientists in grade 1/2 started their discovery into magnets. 

• We started with a pre-assessment sorting objects into categories of magnetic and non-magnetic
  
  
  

• Scientists in room one used  "graffiti boards" to share their thoughts about the meaning of the different scientific vocabulary. 
• They enjoyed using words and pictures to represent their thoughts.  

• Scientists had a chance to explore the classroom for magnetic and nonmagnetic objects using a wand magnet

Tuesday and Thursday - Soup at Lunch. Students must have a signed permission form. 

APRIL 13 - Parent Council Virtual Meeting at 6:30 

April 15 - Wear Pastel Colours Day 

April 22 - Earth Day 

April 26 - Professional Development Day. No School for Students.

 Message to Parents & Guardians:

• Thank you to all the parents that were able to book a conference with Mrs. Sushko and Ms. Standing. If you would like to further talk about your child's learning please do not hesitate to reach out.

• The grade 1/2 community would like to welcome Mr. Colin Harney to Room 4. He will be teaching the grade 1/2's in room 4 until the end of the year.

• Today students in room one practiced following expectations and using a success criteria to complete their calendar numbers for the month of April.

Students did an exemplary job of listening to instructions for the month making them more able to participate safely in all activities

 

Students followed rules of games to make them fun and fair for all

 

All students tried new skills and activities each day
